Evolutionary Psychology Interdisciplinary Conference Series

The Psychology Department is proud to host the Evolutionary Psychology Interdisciplinary Conference Series. Each conference focuses on an aspect of the human condition. Past conferences include “The Evolution of Violence” (2012), “The Evolution of Sexuality” (2013), “The Evolution of Morality” (2014), “The Evolution of Psychopathology” (2016), and “Evolutionary Perspectives on Death” (2018). The conference is held bi-annually. The theme of the 2020 conference has not yet been decided. To view programs from past conferences, please email [email protected].

The two-day conferences are held in Meadow Brook Hall and filled to capacity with 90 attendees. Attendance is by invitation only. 你的学生, 教师, and administration are invited, along with 教师 from around the state and world. Recent conferences have featured panelists and distinguished guests from Brazil, 加拿大, 丹麦, 英格兰, 德国, 马来西亚, Norway and South Africa.

There is no cost for attendance and the keynote speaker and panelists generously agree to waive their speaking and appearance fees. Dinner and a keynote address are provided the first evening with presentations and discussions taking place the next day around lunch and dinner.

Programs such as these provide students with the knowledge, 技能, and experiences necessary to become successful consumers and producers of psychological science.
